Calgary Flooring | Our Frontenac Project
Calgary Flooring | This project showcases the depth of craftsmanship that defines Smith Bros Flooring. Beginning with 3/4 x 2 1/4 Sheoga clear Rift and Quartered White Oak, every element was custom milled in house to create both a detailed pattern floor and a herringbone installation. In total, we produced over 900 custom 2 foot by 2 foot panels for the main and second levels, along with an additional 900 square feet of herringbone flooring. The same material was used to craft stair treads and to border tile areas in the lower level, ensuring a consistent, high-end finish throughout the home.
The preparation behind this project was extensive, with seven weeks dedicated solely to milling the material to exact specifications. All curved stair nosings were built in house to achieve a precise fit and seamless look. The finishing process included one coat of Bona DriFast stain, one coat of Bona sealer, and three coats of Bona Mega water-based urethane, resulting in a durable surface designed to stand the test of time. This project reflects what is possible when attention to detail, experience, and craftsmanship come together without compromise.
